Why are the stories created by “Shohei Manabe(真鍋昌平)” so cruel and fascinating?

Here in Japan, it is not common for ordinary people to hire a lawyer to file a lawsuit against an individual or company. This has a lot to do with the fact that we Japanese are ignorant of the law, but this manga shows us how dangerous it is to be ignorant of the law.

The main character, “Kujyo Taiza(九条間人)” is an eccentric lawyer who only works with dangerous clients such as gangsters, yakuza, and ex-convicts. For example, he works hard to get a hit-and-run driver who caused a traffic accident, who should have been tried for the crime, off the hook. Isn’t the law supposed to protect the weak? You might think so, but there are times when even moral evil is not against the law. The law can be cold and heartless at times, and if abused, it can be very immoral. In other words, it is up to the lawyer.

It is not a horror manga, but it has very frightening content. If you like “Ushijima the Loan Shark(闇金ウシジマくん)” , you will definitely be hooked.
